2009 Glen Ridge Swim Club Rules and Regulations
1. The pool manager and lifeguards have the authority to enforce all rules.
2. In all matters concerning safety, THE LIFEGUARD HAS THE FINAL JUDGEMENT.
3. No glass or sharp objects on any kind on the premises.
4. No pushing, no wrestling, on rough play or no causing any undue disturbances on the premises.
5. No running or playing on the deck area.
6. Nerf balls, underwater masks, snorkels, floats, and tubes may be used at the Manager’s/guard’s
discretion.
7. Water guns of any type are STRICTLY PROHIBITED on premises, as are any other toys the
manager/guard deems unsafe.
8. Flotation devices (swimmies, swimmie sweater, and life vests) are prohibited in the adult pool.
9. No general swimming will be permitted in the area of the diving board without express consent of
the guard on duty.
10. Lifeguards have the authority to close the deep-end for a limited amount of time for gator tag.
11. Adult swim is at 4pm and will last for 20 minutes. The diving section may be kept open at this
time.
12. Beginning swimmers are not allowed to use the adult pool without supervision until they have
passed the swim test administered by the Pool Manager/Guard.
13. Beginning swimmers are not allowed to use the diving/side area until they have passed the swim
test and have their badges signed off by the pool manager/guard.
14. Children under 11 years of age will not be permitted within the pool area unless accompanied by
an adult or babysitter minimum 14 years of age. If accompanied by a baby-sitter, the parent must leave
a note with the pool manager or to be verified by the board.
15. Children 11 years of age and up who have passed the swim test may be permitted in the pool
area unaccompanied until 8:00 pm. A permission slip and the “Parental Consent for Emergency
treatment” form must be given to the Pool Manager annually.
16. Use of the wading pool is limited to children 6 years of age and under.

18. Masks and snorkels are prohibited in the wading pool.
19. The club reserves the right to limit swimming by children to avoid over-fatigues.
20. No intoxicants may be brought on club grounds except at board sanctioned events.
21. Members shall drive slowly and carefully in the parking area. Enter on the east end and exit on
the west end. Speed limit is 10mph in the parking area.
22. All bicycle riders shall use designated area for parking and shall ride carefully.
23. No gum chewing is allowed on premises.
24. Anyone with skin abrasion, open wounds, coughs, colds, inflamed eyes, large bandages or other
infectious conditions is prohibited from using the pool.
25. Expectoring or blowing nose in the pool is prohibited.
26. Children who are not toilet trained are not permitted in the main pool.
27. Children swimming in the baby pool with diapers must wear swim diapers.
28. Change clothes and diaper children in the dressing room only.
29. No pets on premises.
30. The pool may be closed when necessary for maintenance and at the discretion of the Pool
Manager during inclement weather.
31. Pool use shall be restricted to club members in good standing and shall include each member’s
spouse and unmarried children living at home.
32. Swimmers wishing to use the lap lane for swimming laps must notify the lifeguard to have the
lane cleared for use.
33. Pools may be closed for swim meets on Wednesday evenings during the months of June and
July. Please refer to the calendar for specific dates.
34. No smoking permitted on the pool grounds.
35. Pool Hours:
• Weekends only starting Memorial day weekend, 12:30-8:30 pm
• Daily starting Tuesday June 16th – June 30th 12:30- 8:30 pm
• July 1st- July 31st: 12:30-9:00 pm
• August 1st- August 16th 12:30- 8:30pm
• August 18- Labor Day : 12:30- 8:00pm
• All members must sign in at the desk.
36. Guests:
• The fee is $3.00 per guest.
• Limit: 6 guests per day.
• A member must accompany all guests at all times.
• All guests must register and pay upon entrance to the pool.
• Adult “spectators” in street attire will not be charged a fee.
37. The club is not responsible for any loss or damage to personal property.
38. Radios are permitted on the premises only on the condition that their operation does not disturb
other members.
39. Picnicking is permitted in designated areas only.
