Welcome Back!

As the 2011 season arrives at the Glen Ridge Swim Club, we would like to welcome
all members back to the pool.  Also, we want to extend special greetings to our
new members and their families.  We look forward to getting to know you.


Website:

All information and forms regarding swim team, parties, rules and regulations, and
clothing order forms as well as a monthly calendar of events can be found on our
website.  Please check the website regularly.

Guest fees;

All members must sign in at the desk.

The fee is $5 per guest.  You must pay at the door.

If you are having 6 or more guests, you must follow the rules for a Party, as
described below.

Pool hours:

Weekends only starting Memorial Day weekend, May 12:30-8:30 pm

Daily starting Friday June 17th- June 30th: 12:30-8:30

July 1st- July 31st 12:30-9:00pm

August 1st- August 14th: 12:30- 8:30pm

August 15th - Labor Day 12:30pm- 8:00pm

Float Nights:

Float nights are held every Monday and Thursday nights from 6-7:30.  The pool has
a few floats but members are welcome to bring their own.


Deep Water Badges:

All members under the age of 12 are required to pass a deep water test to swim in
the adult pool alone and to slide down the slide and jump off the diving board.  
See a life guard to take the test. After receiving the badge/band, it must be worn at
all times to be allowed in the diving/side area.

Please note:

Children who are not toilet trained are not permitted in the adult pool.  If the
bacteria levels of the pool are altered the pool may be closed for the day or the
season.
Children swimming in the baby pool must be in clean swim diapers.  Altered
bacteria levels may cause this pool to be closed
Parents must be diligent about this.

Snack Shack:

The Snack shack will be open all day.  Just ask one of the guards.  Look for our
new and exciting items, including soda, candy, ice cream, and some healthy snack
options too.

Swim Lessons:

Swim lessons will be offered again this summer.  Beginning June 27, 2011 lessons
will be Monday-Thursday, with Friday used as a makeup day as needed.  They will
be held in the mornings at 11:30-12:00 &12:00-12:30. Lessons will continue each
week thru July as demand warrants.

Fees are 30 dollars per week per child. You may sign-up for as many weeks as you
like. Registration forms will be available in the clubhouse. A registration form and
payment must be handed in by the Friday before your first scheduled lesson.  No
swimmer will be admitted to a lesson without payment and the form. Make checks
payable to the swim instructor.

Social:

Activities planned for this season include Welcome to Summer Party (June 21st, 2-
4pm),
Adult Party (July 8th),and  Family Fun Day (July 24th). More fun events could
be scheduled.  Please volunteer with Christine Juechter to help out with these
events and to share any event ideas you may have.

Parties:

All members are welcome to have a party at the pool.  A form must be completed in
advance. Check the social bulletin board for the calendar and forms, forms can
also be downloaded from the website.  Parties may not be held on float nights and
only one party per day. Anytime you have 6 or more guests under your
supervision, this constitutes a party and time must be reserved per the forms.

The Danielle Fedortion Swim-a-thon:

Danielle Fedortion was a young member of our pool who passed away.  Each year
we hold a Swim-a-thon to raise scholarship money for graduating seniors.  The
event this year will be held on Sunday, June 26th following the Run for Danielle.  
Come and swim, take chances on some great prizes, and enjoy a morning at the
pool.  There will be a 50/50 drawing and food for sale.  For more information check
the bulletin board in the club house.

Run for Danielle:

Come join us Sunday June 26th, 2011 for this 5K run. Registration will be at 7:30am,
with the run to begin at 8:30am. Proceeds will go to the Danielle Fedortion
scholarship fund, and to local charities. Volunteers are needed so please check
the bulletin board for more details.

Pool Closings:

There are a couple Wednesday nights that the pool will be closing early due to
swim meets.  Check the calendar on the activities board for these closings.  
Also, the pool will be closed at 5pm on Sunday, July 31 for the end of season swim
team banquet.

4-5:30pm for the 13-18 year olds
5:30-6:30pm for the 12 and under

Beginning June 22
9-10:30am 13-18 year olds
10:30-11:30am 12-under

Swimsuit try-on - Thursday, June 9th  at 5:00pm.
